Abstract

This study examines the Family Court judgments related to khula and dissolution of marriage in Islamabad during the years 2022, 2023, and 2024. The research analyzes selected judicial decisions in the light of Islamic teachings, with a focus on how courts handle reconciliation, evidentiary claims, spousal allegations, and the legal process leading to the termination of marriage. The purpose of the study is to provide clear academic insight into the rising number of khula and dissolution cases, to highlight the gaps between judicial practice and Sharīah principles, and to increase public awareness about the causes and consequences of marital breakdown. By presenting a comparative and analytical review of these three years, the study aims to contribute toward reducing unnecessary marital disputes and promoting a more balanced and informed approach to family matters in society.
