Abstract

This research work examines the importance of Shariah Objectives in the light of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad . Islamic law is not merely a collection of legal injunctions; rather, it is founded upon higher purposes aimed at securing human welfare, justice, mercy, and social harmony. The research work highlights that the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah provide a comprehensive framework for preserving the five necessities (al-Daruriyyat al-Khams), namely the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth. Through an analytical and descriptive examination of relevant Qur’anic verses and Prophetic traditions, the research demonstrates that every legal command and prohibition in Islam embodies a particular wisdom and serves a specific objective. Furthermore, the study argues that an adequate understanding of the Shariah Objectives provides effective solutions to contemporary moral, social, and intellectual challenges. It concludes that Shariah Objectives represent the spirit and essence of Islamic legislation and constitute a universal framework for establishing justice, safeguarding human dignity, and promoting the well-being of humanity in both this world and the Hereafter.
